The Principal Investigator (PI) for UNINA is <strong>Prof. Francesco Piccialli<\/strong>. This project focuses on training a new generation of researchers in <strong>sustainable AI solutions<\/strong>, addressing challenges in <strong>smart manufacturing, smart cities, healthcare<\/strong>, and <strong>mobility<\/strong>.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <h3>Key Objectives<\/h3>\n    <ul>\n        <li>Develop AI-driven solutions for reducing energy consumption in smart cities.<\/li>\n        <li>Create smart manufacturing processes to minimize waste and optimize resources.<\/li>\n        <li>Implement AI models that ensure sustainability and trustworthiness in various sectors.<\/li>\n        <li>Train doctoral candidates (DCs) through multilateral academic and industrial training.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n\n    <h3>Research Areas<\/h3>\n    <ul>\n        <li><strong>Time Series Analysis:<\/strong> Analyze large sets of temporal data for AI applications.<\/li>\n        <li><strong>Sensor Fusion:<\/strong> Combine data from multiple sources to enhance decision-making.<\/li>\n        <li><strong>Federated Learning:<\/strong> Implement decentralized machine learning models.<\/li>\n        <li><strong>Sustainability and Trustworthiness:<\/strong> Ensure AI systems are sustainable and reliable.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n\n    <h3>Project Duration<\/h3>\n    <p>The project runs from <strong>October 1, 2024<\/strong> to <strong>September 30, 2028<\/strong>, with a total duration of 48 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n    <h3>Partners<\/h3>\n    <ul>\n        <li><strong>Coordinator:<\/strong> POLITECHNIKA SLASKA (SUT), Gliwice, Poland<\/li>\n        <li>UNIVERSITA DEGLI STUDI DI NAPOLI FEDERICO II (UNINA), Naples, Italy<\/li>\n        <li>UNIVERSIDAD POLITECNICA DE MADRID (UPM), Madrid, Spain<\/li>\n        <li>NORGES TEKNISK-NATURVITENSKAPELIGE UNIVERSITET (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway<\/li>\n        <li>UNIVERSIDAD DE OVIEDO (UNIOVI), Oviedo, Spain<\/li>\n        <li>HOGSKULEN PA VESTLANDET (HVL), Bergen, Norway<\/li>\n        <li>Associated Partners: ALMAWAVE SPA, AIUT LTD, GMV AEROSPACE AND DEFENCE SA, BIOKERALTY, NORSK REGNESENTRAL, and more.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n\n    <h3>Doctoral Training Program<\/h3>\n    <p>The program will recruit <strong>13 Doctoral Candidates (DCs)<\/strong>, who will engage in interdisciplinary research and participate in secondments across Europe.
